Q: I have been a professional dancer with major music acts for many years. However, I do not plan on sharing my background and personal story with my new social audience. And with the exception of one photo from a project, I have kept my professional life separate from my personal social media/business endeavors. Is this wise?

DMA: No, it isn’t wise. There is not only room, there is a requirement to bring your whole self to your brand. You will not be marketing what you do but who you are; it’s in important shift to embrace. The many different things you have done and still do will always be a reflection of some portion of that. So dive into those professional experiences to see where they align with your brand’s transformative message. Trust me, it’s there.
